We have organized and financialy supported a study trip to Brussels for the representatives of our partner organization Centre for Civil-Military Relations (CCMR) from Serbia including:
Sonja Stojanović - director of the CCMR,
Filip Ejdus - executive director of the CCMR,
Djordje Popović – research fellow of the CCMR.
Their stay in Brussels lasted five days from March 16 till 20, 2009.
After a very successful presentation of the project Mapping and Monitoring of the Security Sector Reform in Serbia which was held in the European Policy Centre, the delegation of the CCMR had the opportunity to meet few eminent Czech representatives to the European Commission and NATO.
The representatives of CCMR met:
Mr. Karel Kovanda - EC Deputy Director General of External Relations
Mr. Jiří Kalašnikov – Counselor-Minister in the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU
Mr. Jiří Šedivý – Assistant secretary General of NATO for Defense Policy and Planning
Ambassador Štefan Füle – Czech ambassador to NATO.
During these meetings many topics were covered. Apart from present security and political situation in Serbia and Western Balkans, the problems of the EU and NATO enlargement and internal problems of these organizations were discussed. Another important outcome of these meetings is the agreement on possible visit of Mr. Jiří Šedivý to Belgrade – Faculty of political science and the CCMR. This event was one of the many co-organized by CCMR and Jagello 2000 and it provided an valuable output for further cooperation.
