International Security and NATO V.

Study programme for Serbian university students

We hosted already the fifth group of Serbian university students, who took part in programme called "International security and NATO". It was held in Prague in the period from November 2 till 9, 2008.

Altogether we received 210 applications, out of which we carefully chose 20 best students. We are happy to announce that we hosted participants from different cities of Serbia (Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Macvanska Mitrovica etc.), from different universities and faculties.

The aim of this project was to provide students with an orientation into recent developments in NATO concerning the relationship between NATO and the EU, and an insight into the Czech experience with NATO and EU membership as well as Czech current domestic and foreign policy.

Students had exclusive opportunity to meet high ranking political practitioners, military representative as well as leading academics and to hear their opinions as well as to discuss some interesting issues.

Have a look at the programme

The programme was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, and introduced in cooperation with our partner in Serbia - Centre for Civil-Military Relations.

And how did the students like the programme? Here are some of their opinions.

„I have heard about this programme from my colleagues, who had already visited this programme before, but I could never have taught that it would be so good! Great organization, useful lectures, I only can wish you more of these programmes for more students. I am very happy to be part of it”

„I think that the programme managed to fulfil every goal set before. Lectures were very well chosen and executed. I believe that every member of the group was given a great opportunity to hear different opinions and get the best for himself. We were treated with outmost respect and I only hope that the lecturers felt the same.”

„The whole organisation was really great, very professional; lectures were very interesting and the excursions a very unique experience. I learned a lot of new things about international relations and I also broadened my way of thinking. Thank you for everything.”

„I am very satisfied that I attended this programme and I would recommend it to all of my colleagues.”

„I had beautiful week there in
Prague I met really great people, and had nice experience. Moreover we had enough time to see the beauty of Prague”

We invite all those who were not successful to apply for the sixth study programme, which will be most probably held in November 2009.
