Study programme for Serbian university students
One of the main priorities of the Jagello 2000 association are its educational programmes. That is why we have prepared a special programme for university students from Serbia entitled "International security and NATO". The aim of this project is to provide students with an orientation into recent developments in NATO concerning the relationship between NATO and the EU, and an insight into the Czech experience with NATO and EU membership. The programme is supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the CzechRepublic, in cooperation with Masaryk University in Brno (www.muni.cz) and the Prague Security Studies Institute (www.pssi.cz). The first study programmes were held in May and November 2005.
Altogether we received 78 applications, out of which we chose 20 best students. We are happy to announce that we hosted participants from different cities of Serbia (Belgrade, Niš, Novi Sad, Negotin etc.), from different universities and faculties, some of whom are even already active in the NGO sector. In the course of daily lectures, the students had the possibility to hear the opinions of highly positioned Czech and foreign diplomats, army representatives and experts from the academic field.
We invite all those who were not successful to apply for the 4th study programme, which will be held in November 2007.
Already third time, the study programme "International security and NATO" was held in Prague in the period from 20th till 27th May 2007.
